Penetration Testing Presentation & Working Group

In February, plan42 security expert Marc Heinzmann participated in several conferences with contributions on penetration testing:

• 20 February 2013: presentation "Practical Experience from Penetration Testing" at the IT security conference organized by Sparkassenverband Rheinland Pfalz in Mainz
• 26 February 2013: leader of the working group "Penetration Testing at Sparkasse" at the information security conference organized by Sparkassen- und Giroverband Hessen-Thüringen in Erfurt

New IT-Grundschutz Auditor at plan42

plan42 have increased their IT security competence: Christian Lotz has been licensed by the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI). Thus, we have enlarged our team of auditors that are entitled to conduct certification audits for IT-Grundschutz, the BSI's approach towards ISO 27001 implementation.

Presentation on Smartphone Security

How secure are smartphones? This was the question plan42 security expert Marc Heinzmann discussed in a lecture at Leibniz Rechenzentrum in Munich (LRZ), held on 17 January 2013 as part of the lecture series "Secure IT Operations". Mr. Heinzmann not only explained risks resulting from both private and business use, but also described the smartphone security architecture using iPhones as an example.
