Detailing the various advantages that ISO 27001 provides for all parties – far beyond mere security improvement – the authors provide convincing arguments against the usual objections. This is the question that Marc Heinzmann, ISO 27001 auditor at plan42, answered in a presentation at Leibniz-Reichenzentrum Munich on 27 October 2011. The presentation gave a brief introduction into the ISO 27001 standard before pointing out reasons for the implementation in an IT organization. In addition, the "IT-Grundschutz" methodology, developed by the German Federal Office for Information Security, was presented as a possible way of implementing ISO 27001. Download a PDF copy Certification of Online Tax Return FormThis year again, plan42 audited the IT infrastructure of the German online tax return form “ELSTER” as part of the ISO 27001 certification based on IT-Grundschutz. A surveillance audit was carried out at the Munich clearing house to verify the validity of the certificate for another year. In addition, the Düsseldorf clearing house received a new 3-year-certificate after successful re-certification.
